Advert Plan Recap 19/08/2022

Today I pitched my ideas for my advert to the teacher, it's an advert for a gaming mouse.


The advert shows a man buying an office mouse in a computer store with his friend. Camera cuts and now shows them playing video games in the basement. The camera shows that the man is currently using a normal office mouse and playing really badly. The man then becomes frustrated and is filled with rage so he throws away the office mouse and it breaks. His friend tries to calm him down and lends him a gaming mouse. The man becomes really hyped up and the background shines showing that he entered the video game world. The camera cuts to his face with full confidence and an audio in the background plays and says "Let the games begin". Camera zooms out of his face and it is shown that the man is now stuck in a "gaming mouse" body which looks the exact same as the gaming mouse his friend gave him. The setting looks like a fighting stadium and the gates in front of him open revealing his opponent. The camera cuts and shows another man in an "office mouse" body frightened to death as he approaches our main character. It is also revealed that the frightened man is the store clerk who gave our main character his office mouse. The advert ends with our main character staring down the frightened man basically telling the audience that gaming mice are better than normal office mice.


A good thing that my teacher pointed out about the advert is that it's not boring, however the bad thing is that I have to know what video game he gets transferred into.

Podcast Progress/Changes

       Personally, I think that the progress for our podcast was slow in the beginning and we just didn't really know what to make. However, me and Narent came up with the idea of making the podcast somewhat similar to the Buzzfeed Unsolved series in YouTube. The Buzzfeed Unsolved series was a bit too serious for our liking so we decided to switch things up and make our podcast a little dramatic and humorous.       Before we started to actually record the podcast, we had to run a survey to see what the majority of people are interested in. We made the survey in a google form and asked random people from around the school to answer our survey. After we've collected enough data, we began to spot trends and decided to make the topic for the first episode be about the infamous Red Note.      For my role, I worked on making the dramatic intro for the topic of the episode. I also suggested that there should people commenting in the background as I'm giving out the dramatic intro.

COMP 3 - Critical Self Reflection

This is the section where I would write my Critical Self Reflection for the Component 3 media project. Media Self Reflection Cambridge gave a variety of briefs that I could do. I chose the music promotion brief because me and my group thought that it would be the best option and something that we will enjoy making. The brief given to me said “A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music video (major task), together with an official social media page for the band or artiste(s) and a digipak for the album’s release (minor tasks)”. I decided to choose the genre of pop because the song we chose falls under this category and it fits the overall image of the music video we made.
