The Red Podcast hosted by me, Narent, and Abizer features a subverted true crime genre convention. The podcast is targeted to audiences aged 14 - 19 because I think that there are elements in the podcast that may be unsuitable for younger audiences or boring for older ones. We have also created a social media page in Instagram in order to advertise and update our audiences about the upcoming releases of our episodes. For the first episode we talked about the school's red note system, and for the second episode we talked about the basketball school team. How do your products represent social groups or issues? Stuart Hall suggests that media does not reflect meaning, it creates it. An example of when this happens are stereotypes. Stereotypes are used to represent people in a way that gives them a label.   Radio Room Equipment Tutorial with Mr. Wayan      Mr. Wayan had to teach us how to handle all the equipment in the podcast room and he also told us that we are not permitted to change any settings so that it does not interfere with other peoples recordings.     When this was happening at school, I was absent because I had to attend Basketball matches outside of school. As a result, my friends had to teach me how things worked when I finally returned.

       Personally, I think that the progress for our podcast was slow in the beginning and we just didn't really know what to make. However, me and Narent came up with the idea of making the podcast somewhat similar to the Buzzfeed Unsolved series in YouTube. The Buzzfeed Unsolved series was a bit too serious for our liking so we decided to switch things up and make our podcast a little dramatic and humorous.       Before we started to actually record the podcast, we had to run a survey to see what the majority of people are interested in. We made the survey in a google form and asked random people from around the school to answer our survey. After we've collected enough data, we began to spot trends and decided to make the topic for the first episode be about the infamous Red Note.      For my role, I worked on making the dramatic intro for the topic of the episode.   Credit: Narent  Narent's Blog:  https://narent-regentsmedia.blogspot.com/      For the Podcast Editing Process, the work was done by one of my teammates in which he used the application called 'CapCut' to edit all of the content.       During the first stages of his editing progress, he was already quite familiar with the app as he has used the app quite a few times in the past for personal projects. However, during the first few weeks the editing was a bit slow, the only thing he's done was putting the raw audio with the logo picture as we were busy planning out everything. During the final weeks, Narent finished the editing in about a day each for both podcasts. Week #1: We listened to 2 podcasts called "The rest is history:1066" and "Don Snow's History Hit:1066" Week #2: - Week #3: We analyzed podcasts while taking notes about it in order to get an idea of how our podcast intro is going to sound like.  "Pod Save America" is the name of one of the podcast. The podcast started with an advert followed by an intro song and an introduction to our hosts who are starting the topic.  The second podcast called "You're Dead To Me" started with a sponsor and had a Christmas cracker sound effect.  The third podcast, "Always Sunny" started instantly with a casual talk and conversation and leans more into talking about life topics. The final podcast, "Slow Burn" it started off with a narrative and is delivered in a way sort of like in the news. They had interviews, warnings, old voice recordings, and sound effects from the TV show that they were featuring.

Survey Link:  Podcast Survey   For the podcast survey we decided to ask the participants to answer a few critical questions that would decide the path our team is going to take. The first question was "Which podcast topic interests you the most?" and the majority answered with 'Our experience at school'. As a result of this, we decided to talk about school rules and how they affect us. More specifically, we talked about the red notes and invited a special guest who's had experience getting the red note. In our podcast, we decided to choose 3 speakers, make the tone energetic and humorous, add background music, and last but not least have the conversations unscripted in order to make it sound and feel more natural.

Narent: Logo & Thumbnail Abizer: Reference Sam: Social Media  LOGO & THUMBNAIL The topics for our podcast are humor and true crime, we would need to find a logo with something that fits in both categories, since humor will be the leading factor, we would have a humorous logo with a hint of true crime. From the research Narent has done, logos that are humorous look mostly like this: The logos main trend for this type of genre look comic like and bright colors. Having drawings of funny looking characters with a comic book like background, even having the word “comedy” in it, cartoon versions of their faces looking confused, this is a trend in the genre, where the podcast’s a type of question answering podcast, and smiling hosts. The second genre which is true crime have logos that look like this: For this type of genre, the main trend for their logos are simpler and monotoned.
