Week #1

This week we made a survey to ask students in our school about our podcast topics and a general idea of what they would like included in the podcast. 

Week #2

We finished asking people to fill out our survey and we met the required amount of 30 responses. Today we also made a blog post about the summary of our survey and the overall trend of what people want our survey to be like. We also decided our topic for the two episodes of our podcast. (Intro, style, structure, speakers, sound effects, topic, name, genre)

Week #3

We analyzed four different podcasts in order to get an image of how podcast intros are supposed to flow and assigned roles for each of our team members. We also started to record experimental intros in order to practice using the software. We decided the jingle, topic intro, and also host intros for our true crime red note podcast.

Week #4

This week we mainly just worked on our podcast script so that we can record the entire thing next week. The teacher also helped us to use the podcast equipment, and we interviewed the stall's in the canteen in order to get a quick sponsor.

Week #5 

This week is the deadline for the recording, however in class we researched about the thumbnail, logo, and also social media references for our podcast. We made a blogpost summarizing our research and we also started sketching the upcoming designs for the thumbnail. This week I worked on the Social Media research and I looked up for Humorous / True Crime podcasts in order to get an image and inspiration for how our actual podcast would look like.

Podcast Progress/Changes

       Personally, I think that the progress for our podcast was slow in the beginning and we just didn't really know what to make. However, me and Narent came up with the idea of making the podcast somewhat similar to the Buzzfeed Unsolved series in YouTube. The Buzzfeed Unsolved series was a bit too serious for our liking so we decided to switch things up and make our podcast a little dramatic and humorous.       Before we started to actually record the podcast, we had to run a survey to see what the majority of people are interested in. We made the survey in a google form and asked random people from around the school to answer our survey. After we've collected enough data, we began to spot trends and decided to make the topic for the first episode be about the infamous Red Note.      For my role, I worked on making the dramatic intro for the topic of the episode. I also suggested that there should people commenting in the background as I'm giving out the dramatic intro.

COMP 3 - Critical Self Reflection

This is the section where I would write my Critical Self Reflection for the Component 3 media project. Media Self Reflection Cambridge gave a variety of briefs that I could do. I chose the music promotion brief because me and my group thought that it would be the best option and something that we will enjoy making. The brief given to me said “A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music video (major task), together with an official social media page for the band or artiste(s) and a digipak for the album’s release (minor tasks)”. I decided to choose the genre of pop because the song we chose falls under this category and it fits the overall image of the music video we made.
